This house design features four standard size bedrooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, two dining cum drawing halls, one temple, one study on the mezzanine floor, one decent size garage for car and bike parking and multiple balconies at the front.

The house plan is well optimized according to the requirements of the client who is building his dream home at his native village in Midnapore, West Bengal. The client already had the basic drawing that we further optimized while conceptualizing the elevation designs for this beautiful and modern house. While the house floor plan or blueprint of this duplex building was finalized reasonably fast, we have put in a lot of effort while conceptualizing the house elevation designs and variations. More on that follows, but let me talk about the key features and amenities of this two floor house design.

The ground floor in this duplex house plan design features a decent size car parking. The size of the car parking is 12'-10" by 16'-0".The parking space can well be used to park a car as well as a scooty and bike. Just behind the car parking, we have a small door on the right side that leads to the drawing and dining area. Besides the car parking space, a nicely designed staircase leads to the first floor of the house. Then we have a kitchen (9'-0"x8'-5"), then there is a small living space (7'-11" X 8'-5") and then there are two washrooms (8'-0"x4'-0") towards the right. One of the bathrooms is attached to the bedroom and the other one is the common toilet. And finally, we have placed two bedrooms. The size of the master bedroom is 12'-10" x 13'x0" and the other bedroom is 12'-6"x11'-0". All the rooms are well ventilated with windows. There is a secondary small door just behind the staircase on the ground floor which is accessible from the left side (behind the garage) of the building.

Now take the stairs and let's head up to the first floor of this beautiful duplex house design plan. Needless to say, the layout of the first floor is almost similar to the ground floor of the house. The first floor of this modern duplex house which is to be built in the village features a mezzanine study room (12'-10"x13'-0"). The rooftop of the car parking has been smartly used to create the study area. Apart from the front of the first floor features two balconies, one at the mezzanine floor and one at the top. The 5'-0" wide balcony can be used in different ways.

Towards the front, we also have another balcony (6'-2"x6'-1") and a temple room (5'-6"x4'-6"). Just behind that we have the staircase, a 9'-0"x8'-5" Kitchen, 7'-11"x8'-5" living area, two toilets (8'-0"x4'-0" each). And then we have two bedrooms of 12'-10"x13'-0" and 12'-6"x11'-0" size. On the first floor of this duplex house design, we have provided two extra balconies connected with the bedrooms.

Now let's talk about the exterior elevation designs of this two storey duplex house. The priority of the owner of this beautiful house was to keep the design simple, yet elegant. They wanted something simple that could easily be built by the local building contractor without having to source exclusive building supplies and accessories from a distant city.

They also wanted to have the village feel, but at the same time, the owner wanted this house to look differently elegant and modern. And that is how we started conceptualizing the front elevation designs for this beautiful duplex house.

We started creating the mood boards for this duplex house elevation design. The first thing to note was the simplicity in building so we kept it straight forward. We used simple, yet elegant wall colors like off-white, dark brown and lighter shade of grays. Also, we wanted to check how the elevation will look if we don't build the mezzanine floor and hence you will notice the height of the building is nearly the same on both the sides.

The client liked the first version of the elevation design. However, they felt the design had become too simple and classic. And therefore, they wanted to see the other alternative looks we can come up with.

So, we created another variation and we can call it option 2. In this exterior elevation variation, we conceptualized the full building with a mezzanine floor, and hence the height in the left (above the garage) is more than the right side. Anyways, we added some vertical pillars on one side, made some changes in overall colors, and added some tiles on the walls. You'll notice multiple tiles colors and that is just to demonstrate what kind of tiles will go well.

And then we had a third elevation design variation for this duplex building. In this third design variation, we tried to design the elevation with rounded balconies at the front which are very typical of village homes. This looks a little royal, and goes well with the village style of building homes. But, that's not the only change we made. We changed the balcony railing with glass, changed the way the main gate of the building looks and did some other minor changes here and there to complete the design.

All in all, for this duplex house plan and elevation design project, we ended up creating multiple exterior elevation views. The client Dr. Das has been very happy with all the variations and wanted to build the house according to the third elevation design views.
